We get stuck all the time.  Whether your career feels stagnant or a relationship in a rut or you can’t seem to lose weight, we all get stuck from time to time.  I like to write and often find myself stuck and unable to move forward and pick the pen.  Being stuck does not mean that you have to stay stuck.  Here are three ways to get out of that rut and move on with your life.

  1.  Be at peace with frustration.   Give your negative emotions a little time to run their course.  Simply notice them; do not ignore them or try to suppress them.  Your emotions or frustration will move on; just like a clogged drain when the water flows free.
  2. Take one step forward.  Take a step, take another.  Even a small step will start to build some momentum.  Don’t overwhelm yourself with a long list of actions.  Just take one step forward in the right direction.
  3. Get somebody to help you push.  Reaching out to others for support is a powerful way to step forward.  Team up with a friend or someone who will help you stay motivated.  Chose your “push partner” wisely; and avoid someone who will not challenge and encourage you.

Start now.  Get out of your box and break through your block.
